If you are anything like me, a person that is conscious of his health but can’t stand spending a second too long in the kitchen, this post will be of benefit to you.
We have all been told since we were kids that eating vegetables is of prime importance to maintaining a healthy body and a healthy diet. We have been told that by our parents, our teachers in school and when one becomes much older you eventually get told by your physician that consuming vegetables on a daily basis is one of the most important things that we could do to have a healthier life. So, in this post I will not be telling you what you already know about eating your vegetables, since every single one of us know what the health benefits are in regards to eating the correct amount of vegetables per day, from the nutritional values to the actual benefits of eating all kinds of vegetables.
If you have a busy life like me, sometimes you do not have the time to cook vegetables every day. I am one of those people that has to have vegetables at lunch and at dinner. The issue that I have mainly comes during the lunch period of my day. I normally order takeout for lunch, and I try to order as healthy as possible, but what I’ve noticed during my years is that when you order a side dish of vegetables at your favorite take-out restaurant, it’s normally not the way you would like it, either the vegetables that you have ordered has been seasoned way too much or too little, or the vegetables are completely overcooked or undercooked. So what I had decided to do during the past four or five years is to make frozen vegetable juices, which I prepare at home using a blender. I use a regular blender that one would buy at Walmart, and not one of these sophisticated juices that you see on TV nowadays which costs an arm and a leg. I find that the regular blender does a perfect job to blend and breakdown vegetables and ice cubes to make a perfectly drinkable juice that you can bottle up in your flask and take it to work with you and refrigerate it when you get there.
The whole purpose of doing this is to save time, because for me I do not want to spend one second longer than I have to in the kitchen cooking vegetables, call it a pet peeve of mine. It takes me about 30 minutes to one hour to cook the vegetables that I need for the day, but using my blender it takes me about three minutes at the most. It takes me a few minutes to actually eat the vegetables when I cook them, but takes me a few seconds to drink the blended vegetable juice , and I know that my vegetable intake for the day is all set.
So if you have a busy life and don’t want to spend your life cooking vegetables, use a blender to do the work for you. A handful of broccoli, a handful of cauliflower, a pinch of parsley, maybe some nuts, a squirt of honey is all you need to make a drinkable vegetable smoothie/juice for your daily intake of the necessary vegetables that is required in your daily diet.
I hope that this post will help some of you to rethink the way that one can consume vegetables, and I also hope it will save you a lot of time.
